HomeNews Flash Search All categories Home Tools RSS Notify Me® Categories All Categories Home News Flash Home Posted on: November 27, 2018Attend a Dec. 10 Meeting on Placement of New Buoys in Eagle Harbor The City of Bainbridge Island’s Marine Access Committee is hosting a public meeting to gather input from the polity well-nigh the placement of new buoys in the Dave UllinUnshutWater Marina (DUOWM) in Eagle Harbor.The City of Bainbridge Island operates a residential marina within Eagle Harbor, under the terms of a lease with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR lease allows the City to enter into subleases with 16 individual tenants in the DUOWM for the purpose of supporting a vibrant liveaboard community. Earlier this year, the City Council voted to provide funding to expand the number of moorage sites from nine to 16, as unliable under the terms of the lease.During the last few months, the Marine Access Committee has heard from a variety of polity members regarding the location of the new buoys and safety concerns involved with navigation in Eagle Harbor. The Marine Access Committee is now hosting a public meeting at City Hall Monday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. to receive public scuttlebutt on this project and provide an overview of the planned work. The Committee will use public input to develop recommendations for staff and Council to decide how and where the buoys should be located in Eagle Harbor.The Dec. 10 meeting will uncork with an unshut house from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. A formal presentation will uncork at 6:00 followed by a question-and-answer session.If you can’t shepherd the meeting, please send comments to Operations Project Manager Aaron Claiborne at aclaiborne@bainbridgewa.gov.
