HomeNews Flash Search All categories Home Tools RSS Notify Me® Categories All Categories Home News Flash Home Posted on: June 12, 2018City Seeks Input on Future of IslandPart-wayThe polity of Bainbridge Island is invited to participate in an online survey to help identify priorities for the future of Island Center.The City of Bainbridge Island and the IslandPart-waySubarea Planning Process Steering Committee, made up mostly of people who live and work in or nearby Island Center, want to know how you think and finger well-nigh the future of this neighborhood center, located at the crossroads of Miller and New Brooklyn Roads near a gas station, wheels repair shops, Bainbridge Rental, Sawatdy Thai Cuisine and Bainbridge Gardens, among others.The IslandPart-wayNeighborhoodPart-wayis a “designated center” with goals and policies in the Comprehensive Plan supporting a subarea planning process, which allows for increasingly detailed planning and polity involvement in a much smaller geographical zone within the City.The subarea planning process recognizes the special characteristics of IslandPart-wayand will examine:Place and identityBusiness and economyTransportationNatural resources, and more.In 2017, the City Council identified IslandPart-waysubarea planning as a priority. The Council then scheduled a steering committee, which has been meeting and gathering information. As part of the process, the committee is now looking for public participation. Please take a few minutes to well-constructed the five-question survey to help us uncork identifying priorities for this neighborhood center.
