The Dinner on the STO was an idea by five Bainbridge Island residents who want to bring the polity together– to gloat our love of Bainbridge.In June, the City of Bainbridge Island awarded a $500 grant to the weightier polity project idea presented at the ‘For the Love of Bainbridge’ workshop. The event was led by Peter Kageyama, tragedian of For the Love of Cities, who has spoken all over the world well-nigh polity minutiae and the people who are making transpiration happen.During the event, well-nigh 50 people were separated into small groups to work on community-building activities. During the final activity, Kageyama posed a question to each group: “If you had $500 to make Bainbridge Island a better, increasingly loveable place, what would you do?” Some groups suggested benches virtually the Island, a flag project and a penny fundraiser. Ultimately, the attendees voted their favorite idea was Dinner on the STO, so the team started planning!“When we were considering what could be a fun event for our community, we felt it needed to be something that appeared to be as spontaneous as possible, in the nature of a pop-up event. We wanted it to be as inclusive as possible,” said the polity organizers. “We moreover wanted to honor the eyeful of the new segment of the Sound to Olympics Trail where it passes slantingly the ravine—a view that was subconscious surpassing the trail was built. The table and chairs will be provided – tables, which will seat eight people, will uncork near High School Road.There is no forfeit to attend, but you must reserve tickets.
